Sue Schleier M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Schleier received a BA with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin. She earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas and completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. After finishing her residency, she worked at the Medical and Surgical Clinic of Irving for 2-1/2 years before opening The Pediatric Center of Las Colinas.

Dr. Schleier is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She serves as a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical School. She has been recognized by the Texas Pediatric Society of the American Academy of Pediatrics and by the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston for her work in preceptoring medical students, is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing and serves on the Clinical Faculty of the Vanderbilt School of Nursing.

Dr. Schleier has been in private practice in the Irving/Las Colinas area for over 15 years. She and her family have lived in this area for more than 20 years. She is interested in all areas of pediatrics, from newborns to adolescents.

Wincy Peveto Tomecko M.D., F.A.A.P

Dr. Tomecko graduated with honors in 1996 from the University of Texas at Austin. In 2000, she earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, and completed residency training in pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas in 2003. After her residency, she served as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical Center, specializing in the care of hospitalized children. She also taught the ethics of clinical medicine, and actively trained medical students and pediatric residents in the care of children.

Dr. Tomecko is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the Dallas County Medical Society and the Dallas Pediatric Society. She serves as a Clinical Instructor in Pediatrics at UT Southwestern Medical School. She is also actively involved in teaching medical students and nurse practitioner students in the outpatient setting.

Dr. Tomecko lives in Las Colinas with her husband and daughters. Her special areas of interest include the care of hospitalized children, and the practice of evidenced based medicine in the primary care setting.

 

Carissa Meyer, M.D., F.A.A.P.

Dr. Meyer received her BA in Biochemistry and graduated with honors from The University of Texas at Austin.  She earned her medical degree at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas in 2000 and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.  She then completed residency training in Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado.  She returned home to Texas to pursue private practice in Pediatrics, and she has practiced in the Las Colinas area since 2004.

Dr. Meyer is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics.  Her memberships include the Texas Medical Association and the Dallas County Medical Society.  She served as Pediatric Chair of Las Colinas Medical Center in 2016 and has been recognized as a "Mom-Approved Doctor" by DFW Child magazine.

Dr. Meyer enjoys all aspects of pediatrics and is committed to providing the best care that is also cost-effective and mindful of the child's needs.  She wants to work as a partner with parents and is most satisfied when she feels she has truly helped a child and their family.  In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.  She is actively involved in her church and is a girl scout troop leader.

Meredith Amber Johnston, M.D., F.A.A.P

 
 

Dr. Johnston attended the Texas Academy of Math and Science at UNT. She graduated with a BS in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. In 2003 she earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. She completed internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond Virginia. She served a year as a chief resident of pediatrics. She returned to Texas to practice in Corsicana. She worked there for more than 15 years, acting as Chief of Pediatrics for Navarro Regional Hospital and the Director of Neonatal Services for the last 10. She served as Chief of Staff of the hospital in 2015.

Dr. Johnston is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow in the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is a member of the Texas Pediatric Society. She is enthusiastic about pediatrics and shares this by mentoring college students interested in medicine and precepting nurse practitioner students. She has completed medical mission trips in Venezuela and Burkina Faso.

Dr. Johnston enjoys the breadth of pediatrics from newborns to adolescents. She is passionate about early childhood literacy, as reflected by her involvement with Reach Out and Read while in medical school and residency. She started a ROR site in Corsicana, TX. She relocated to Coppell, TX with her husband and 2 daughters in 2023. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, and reading.

Marlea Jeter, M.S.N., R.N., C.P.N.P.-PC

Marlea received her BSN from Texas Tech University Health Science Center. After working as a registered nurse for several years, she returned to graduate school and received her Master’s Degree in Nursing in the Spring of 2014 from the University of Texas-Arlington. She has been at Pediatric Center of Las Colinas since that time. She truly loves all of her patients and their families! She is passionate about advocating for children and their healthcare needs.

Marlea is a board-certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with a specialty in primary care. She is a current member of The Greater Texas Chapter of N.A.P.N.A.P., the local pediatric nurse practitioner organization. Marlea also enjoys academia and serves as adjunct faculty for undergraduate nursing students. She often precepts Nurse Practitioner students, as well.  

Marlea is a native Texan and doesn’t see herself ever leaving! She is married and has 3 boys of her own, plus 2 fur-babies.  She enjoys spending time with her boys, traveling, and good food!

Shanna Kidd, MPAS PA-C

Shanna graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University and went on to receive a Master of Physician Assistant Studies from Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2009.  She has worked in general pediatrics since graduation, with a few years in pediatric urgent care as well.

 She is licensed by the Texas Medical Board, certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and is an active member of Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.  Shanna loves children of all ages and is very passionate about educating parents and children about wellness and healthy lifestyles.  She loves learning and is very eager to help every child and family in any way possible.

 Shanna is married and has a daughter, son, dog, and a cat.  She has a particular passion for children with special needs as her youngest child is on a special needs journey of his own.  Besides spending time with her family she enjoys doing anything outdoors from tennis, hiking, gardening, or just having a picnic on a beautiful day.  She also loves being crafty, especially with her daughter, and traveling with her family.
